It's said the best way to learn BJJ is to study a smaller person. To defeat a larger opponent, the smaller person must be a master of leverage and technique. A black belt who competes at bantamweight, Curtis Brigham has over 18 years of experience and has applied his grappling skills throughout North America and in Japan.
A mixture of Boxing and Muay Tai, Kickboxing is an essential component of MMA and a combat sport all on it's own. Its a great cardio workout and can prove useful in self-defence scenarios. WAMMA kickboxing classes develop form, movement, striking techniques, combinations, checking, blocking and conditioning.
One of the oldest sports in history, Wrestling requires balance, leverage and explosive power. Athletes use Wrestling to take down and control their opponents. In MMA, Wrestling is a critical component of the transition game between striking and grappling. This skill is a must-have for any aspiring MMA athlete.
As a woman, I was nervous about entering WAMMA, however I was delighted to discover that this is not an old boy's club! I felt welcome, people take the time to help the beginners, it doesn't matter what gender, fitness, age, or size, they are willing to take you on, if you are willing to do the work!! Thank you to Curtis and the gang!
We enrolled our 4 & 6 year old in the Bully proof program in Fall of 2016 and they have enjoyed every class. The instructors are great with kids, the training is invaluable, the atmosphere is incredible and the instructor to student ratio makes it a great learning environment. Well worth the cost and highly recommended.
